RecAce adds the weather to every outdoor match you log: the temperature, wind, gusts, humidity, and conditions at the court. It shows on each match ("72° · 8 mph") and in full when you open the match. Pro subscribers also see their record by temperature and wind in the Conditions card on Analytics > Overview.

Where the weather comes from

The weather service needs a real place, and a court name like "Avalon" or "IRC Dean" is not one. So RecAce looks for a place in this order:

  1. A zip code or a state typed into the match's Location ("Piedmont Park 30309" or "Indian Wells, CA"). Handy for away matches.
  2. The city you gave that court.
  3. Where you usually play, from Settings.
  4. The zip code or city on your profile.

For most players the court's city does the work, because you only answer it once per court.

Giving a court its city

The first time you log an outdoor match at a court RecAce has not seen, the Add Match form asks right under Location: "What city is Riverside Park in?" Type the city and state, like "Carmel, IN", or a zip code. RecAce checks the place and shows what it found. From then on every match at that court gets its weather, and the form shows "Weather from Carmel, IN" with a Change link instead of asking again.

Picking a court you have used before also fills in Indoor or Outdoor for you.

A city on its own, such as "Springfield", is not accepted, because there are dozens of them and the weather would come from the wrong one. Add the state or country.

Indoor courts never need a city. If the court is indoors, tap "Skip, it's indoors" and RecAce stops asking.

Your courts in Settings

Settings has a Your courts list with every place you have logged a match: its city, whether it is usually indoor or outdoor, and how many matches you have played there. From there you can:

  • Add or change a court's city. Matches at that court get their weather within the hour.
  • Mark a court indoor or outdoor.
  • Rename a court. The new name goes on every match there. Rename one court to the name of another to merge them, so "Avalon" and "Avalon CC" count as one place.

You can also add a city straight from a match: open any outdoor match with no weather and the Conditions box asks for the court's city.

When outdoor matches are waiting for weather because their court has no city, the bell at the top of the app says so, for example "3 courts need a city: Avalon, North Central and Home Court. 20 outdoor matches are waiting for weather." Add cities opens Your courts on the first one. Not now hides it for 30 days, and it goes away by itself once every court has a city. It starts after your third match.

What stays private

Court cities and where you usually play are never shown on your public profile. RecAce sends the weather service only a place, a date, and a time of day, never your name, opponents, or scores.

Good to know

  • Weather is looked up after you save a match, usually within the hour. Older matches fill in the same way.
  • Matches marked indoor, sample matches, and future dates never get weather.
  • With no time of day on the match, you get the day's high and its strongest wind.
  • Editing a match's date, time, location, or indoor/outdoor setting updates its weather.
